Dr. Bowles is a Professor of History at the American Public University. 

He holds four university degrees: a Ph.D. in History from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA in Technology Management, a Master's in History, and a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Akron. ​He has written over 20 books, including three college-level textbooks (Digital Literacy, U.S. History since 1865, and A Global History of Science). 

Dr. Bowles was a 10-year NASA Historian. The American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA) awarded him its prize for the best historical book in 2004, 2005, & 2010. 

​His current project involves collaborating with Dr. Jeannette Potts to publish her book,
