Dr. Bowles is a Professor of History at the American Military University. As a NASA historian, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) awarded him their prize for the best historical book in 2004, 2005, and 2010. 


He holds four university degrees, including a Ph.D. in History from Case Western Reserve University, an MBA in Technology Management, a Master's in History, and a Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Akron.


​He has written over 20 books, including the journey of the youngest person to solo row the Atlantic Ocean, the First NFL Season, and three college-level textbooks (Digital Literacy, U.S. History since 1865, and A Global History of Science.


​His current project involves collaborating with a physician to publish a book about her research on the incorporeal mummies of Guanajuato, Mexico.


And he loves pyramids.
